I experimented a little with the ‘Luminance’ feature in the materials tab to create the image at the top. This has given me the idea to possibly have different renders of the same jellyfish/eye, with different materials. For example, one with skin-colour materials, one with bright neon-type colours etc.

The example below mine is my teachers experiment using the Luminance with Subsurface Scattering. I will develop the character further and work on the lighting.
