I am using a shader that allows for Maya’s vertex painting materials to show in Unity. This image displays the shader working in Unity.

As Unity’s ‘wind’ option only made the tree and flower meshes I made sway from side to side, I used one tree from the SpeedTree , and I added it into Unity to test the wind. Again, the tree only moved from side to side, creating an unrealistic effect (bottom left image). I download a tree from the Unity asset store and I found out that the tree swayed/moved nicely; the branches moved and the leaves rustled, creating the effect of an actual tree in the wind (bottom right image).

So I finally found out that Unity’s trees have a realistic wind movement, and that I would either have to animate my own trees/vegetation hand by hand, or use some code (which I think Unity’s tree might have?).
