MRI_VR Project, The Idea, #Start

I found it quite difficult to come up with an idea for the FMP. Having spoken to one of my terachers, I remember him mentioning that his friend had an MRI scan. That brought the idea into my head about creating something related to a hospital procedure.  The next day my Course leader, Sophie, presented to us her PHD project that she was working on.  As her PHD was about body language animation and how it can be used to  communicate with people who are unwell and unable to talk, something that her Father went through, as she explained, I thought, why can’t I base my project on my history of illnesses and conditions that I had growing up? That’s when I got the idea of creating a short 2 minute Virtual Reality animation showing the procedure of an MRI scan. As I wanted to create this project and have it shown to patients at the Hospital I used to go to, my teachers advised me to create a presentation to show the doctors, as if I was ‘applying for a job’.

Attatched is the PDF presentation that I showed the Doctors at the Great Ormond Street Hospital: Hospital_Presentationon

Initially I was going to create   a CT Scan, however having spoken to the Doctors, they told me that it was the MRI scan that made the loud noises.
